Cowboy Boot Planter for Succulents – Creative Gardening Idea

Cowboy Boot Planter for Succulents – Creative Gardening Idea

I love creative gardening ideas. This cowboy boot planter is would make a great table accent.

This metal cowboy boot is gorgeous all by itself, but the star shaped cut outs on the side of the boot make it the perfect container for a whole host of succulents.

Creative succulent planters come in all sorts of shapes and sizes.  Shoe and boot planters are some of my favorite.

If you love succulents as much as I do, be sure to check out my guide for how to care for succulents. It is loaded with information about these drought smart plants.

Cowboy Boot and Succulents Combine for a Western Look

When it comes to creative gardening, this cowboy boot planter is right up there at the top of my list.  I found the one of a kind planter on a recent trip to Greensboro to visit my daughter who attends college there.

Jess’ favorite gardening shop is Plants and Answers, located on West Market street in Greensboro.  The shop is a combination nursery, florist and gift shop and is a must visit location if you are in Greensboro.

I have a few succulents on my patio table that could also be added to this planter for a bit more height on the top or even to group around the base of the boot in other pots to make a western theme display.

Which of these would you add to the planter?

Hens and chicks

Hens and chick, a cold hardy succulent, has a lovely rosette shape and can take the cold in stride.

Lythops and maternity plant

This succulent has new plants forming along the edges of the leaves. It is right at home nestled with these lithops.
