This easy diced garlic is a great cooking tip that will help with that task. It can take quite a bit of time, too, when you need to mince a lot of garlic at once.
Garlic…ahhhh, who doesn’t love its flavor. If a recipe call for some of it, I usually double it. But the cloves are often small and it can be kind of tricky to cut and dice with a knife.

Easy Diced Garlic Cooking tip uses a Meat Tenderizer.
A garlic press works well, but often makes it mushy, and I like having tiny bits of garlic in a recipe. I can’t count the number of times I have cut my fingers trying to get those tiny bits chopped.
Plus…you can only do a few cloves in a garlic press. What happens when you need to mince several cloves at once?
Here is a neat cooking tip. Peel the garlic, and place the cloves on a piece of saran wrap. Fold over the wrap and give the garlic a couple of swift hits with a meat tenderizer.
A couple of slices with a knife and you have it done.
These pictures took me no more than about 10 seconds from start to finish. I did four cloves but you could do dozens with the same technique in just a few seconds.

I use my Tupperware chopper with the spin cord on it, if I have lots to do. I don’t mind cutting w a knife if big chinks are in order. I also use the plastic (semi-disposable) cutting board and a bit of salt w a flat edge of knife to spread it about till pasty if needing it that tiny.
Thanks for the tips Marsha! Carol
Clever! I don’t like using my garlic press either…
HI Sharon. I was amazed how fast it was to do a bunch of it! Carol
